Week 1
https://youtu.be/R55jGw2mH0Q
I did ok throughout this clue- I followed the pattern as written. I did have a few mistakes on this clue, though, mainly due to increasing non increase rows (I think).
I checked the stitch count at the end of each repeat and if it was over by a stitch or two – I just placed a marker at the point and emitted an increase on the next increase row for that particular chevron.
It all worked out fine and I ended up with the correct number of stitches for the last row.
I had one mistake where the centre decrease ridge had slipped across by a stitch so I had to go back and fix it by dropping the stitches down and picking them back up with a crochet hook
I did however drop a stitch in the i cord bind off but luckily it was near to a loose yarn tail so i used that tail to secure the dropped stitch and then weaved in the end on the back of the work.
I wasn’t able to finish by the start of clue 2- I still had the last half repeat and the icord bind off to finish.
Week 2
https://youtu.be/kdIsprrpgaI
I got started late (see above) but I found the first part of the pattern fairly easy and soothing. Just some nice garter stitch, short rows and a bit of twisted rib.
It was great to get the Accent colour involved and see if working with the other colours.
It was pretty smooth sailing throughout these sections I did have the odd slipped stitch in the garter rows but I managed to drop the stitch down and fix it fairly easily.
I had no problems with the purling section other than it took me a little longer to do than if it was all knit rows.
I started the cables only on the last day of the week and then made a mistake on row 11 and had to rip it right back and start the cables again
Week 3
https://youtu.be/Hn2qKXltiKc
I was still working on the cables at the start of this week but I did get them finished without any further issues by the Saturday , and so I got started on Clue 3 straight away.
I mixed it up by doing some icord embellishments whenever I got tired of the twisted section. and by the end of the week I finished one side completely including the icord detail for that side and also the second strip almost complete but no icord on the second side as yet
Week 4
https://youtu.be/jgp7z8XbL0U
I had to re-do my 2nd strip as I had added a stitch at some point and so my strip was about 1-2 inches too long so I was late to the final clue.
I found the first wing easy to knit but the 2nd slightly more time consuming.
I went for the early bind off as I liked the finish of that better

Overall, I love the finished shawl so much- I have hardly taken it off since it came off the blocking mat. The colour choices are exactly what I wanted, and I’ve had so many compliments on it.
The pattern itself was easy to follow but I’m still glad that the video tutorials were available- they are always so clear and take away any anxiety about the new methods you might be facing.
It is a lot of knitting, but I think it felt that way just because of the weekly updates- if there had not been a deadline, I would have felt more leisurely about it.
