Oh I am so glad to have these off the needles, they have been festering on my Wip trolley for far too long. I orginally started them In August last year and they have been hibernating since September I think. I managed to get the first sock finished quite early but I must have been distracted by other projects (most probably the MKAL now I think about it).
I used a different heel than i normally do- I tried the New Depths Heel by Becky Sorenson for a change and to try some increases for the heel. The heel pattern was easy to follow but I dont think its the right one for my feet. I have quite narrow feet and I think just a standard short row heel actually fits me better, especially once I’ve had them on my feet most of the day.
The sock pattern was great- easy to follow and quick to memorise. I obviously converted to toe up as usual and used my favourite turkish cast on and eleastic bind off.
The finished socks are lovely

Yarn: Noodle Soup Yarns – Sparkle sock “Gulfweed Cosmos”
Needles 3mm
Oh I love this project.
The yarn has been in my stash since Yorkshire Yarn fest in October 2021. it was a bit of an odd one out as I have no other yarn in a colour even similar even though it is a colour I love, I just dont think you see it enough. I wanted to save the yarn for a pattern to use it on its own and because of the variagation I wanted something fairly simple.
The Hitchhiker pattern is one of a series from Martina Behm (all of which are beautiful and several have been added to my favourites!). Its a fantastic one skein project- great to use up those treasured or special yarns that are just too special for socks.
The pattern is super easy to follow and extremely well written. It was a perfect project for relaxing and a bit of a palate cleanser where I could just knit knit knit, without even looking and just let my mind rest.
I will definately knit another, maybe with a larger needle to get a looser gauge for a larger finished item, but i love it.
It was exactly the project I needed.

Designer: Susan Claudino
Yarn: Truly Hooked DK with Nylon “Sugar and Spice”

This was a pleasure to knit.
I started and finished it within an afternoon and evening. so cute and fun.
I adapted the pattern by using a turkish cast on for the individual elements to prevent having holes to sew up at the end which worked a treat.
With a request from Minnie he also now has a hat and a gilet as well as a cowl.
He’s a very well dresssed and toasty Mouse.
I already have my eye on another softie pattern from Susan Claudino.
